OK, I know this sounds a bit strange! The subject has come up because my local show has sent us numbers in advance (and given us a new one for each class - so now I have to change numbers between classes for two children, and you just KNOW the flipping things are going to clash and it is going to be chaos......)
Anyway, I digress, we have no black string, but I have seen people use safety pins before so I am tempted to go that route, but breaking out in a cold sweat at the thought of skewering the children - what does everyone else use?

Elastic. Problem with safety pins is where do you put your rosette as i just hang mine onto my elastic.

i used for the first time at weeton saftey pins as i knew it would be a hot day and wouldnt be able to take my jacket on and off if i used string and it worked really well!! i got two rossets in one class and just put them in my button holes, also if the ponies are plated you can put the rossets in the plats xxx

On hot days i tend to use plaiting thread on the buttons on the back of my jacket and put my rossettes in my pocket with the tail hanging out x

Sheering elastic is best you tie a loop at each end and thread it over the buttons looks very neat too.

elastic everytime... and if you have two numders you can put them back to back and then just spin then round Thats a fab idea, whenever i've shown two ponies its always taken me ages to swap numbers!! Elastic for me too!
