My coloured id x tb has just been given the all clear by the vet to be brought back into work after being on off work since May. I think I would now like to start giving her a joint supplement, a couple of supplements have been recommended to me either NAF superflex or VetVits Equiflex or maybe some apple cider vinegar. Any suggestions? ? What supplements do any of you guys use and is there any I should avoid?

Equine america cortaflex has had some really good reports. Wiggle has found an alternative with the same (or better) ingredients but much cheaper. Can't remember the website tho. WIg?

I use cortaflex, it's really worked on a couple of my horses, but not had any effect on others. You might find it's a case of trial and error until you find something that suits your horse.

my neddy is was 12 when I got her, she's 16 on wednesday! But anyway she was all stiff and sad at first so I put her on apple cider vinegar, also devils' claw. I excercised her daily, schooling hacking jumping or lunging. She suffers slightly from arthritis (sp) so when cortaflex came out i gave that to her daily and woah you wouldn't beleive the difference it makes.
So i would recomend cortaflex mainly. apple cider vinegar works and so does devils claw. Linseed oil and cod liver oil help to maintain healthy joints too.

Has the vet suggested a supplement and if so, what about Cosequin? Although it's prescription only, but it's excellent
