OK im being dumb i thought i posted this earlier maybe not ! i thought id let you guys say your views on what classes i cando ? this is odd sox aka sox she a 14.2hh 8 year old heinz 57,with tb legs , she has been shown as a cob in the apst but is very light in the leg and as im now riding her and i dont like showing cobs , i thought i try something different. Ive done a few whp classes with her but she is still very green on her jumping , imgoing to work on her jumping over the summer and get her up to standards. She is hunting this season atm with the mid devon and south devon foxhounds and is proving to be good over grounds, would i be able to do shp with her? and what other classes do you think ? also she got very pointy toe movement ifyou know what i mean! many thanks cassy x most recent photos first

I would say she is a small hunter, though she would be one of the 'small' small hunters lol I don't know if she will be penolised for being 14.2, what level will you be doing? I think her torso is too chunky for the show hunter, but when she is jumping well working hunter would be very suitable

Definatley working hunter stamp... but until jumping is going well i'd go for hunters at clubs anyway its usually separated into 15hh and under so would be in the small catagory but you'd have to be below 25yrs at most places at lot of judges like the stocker 'old fashion' hunter especially if he has a mean gallop. A really nice sort though good luck with him

from my experience at local shows its just usually "open pony" so i would enter them as she has very nice confermation and its hard to find the classes at local level, yes i agree she would make a lovely whp xx

I think she's lovely. If you want to enter something at Devon County I'd go for the show hunter pony class (14-15hh) if you're under 20. She's likely to be dwarfed in a small hunter class and the WHP may be a bit ambitous at the moment (3ft6).
At local level go for show hunter pony classes, working hunter pony and things like equitation and riding club pony. Open pony classes are usually for any pony 14.2hh and under, some judges will look for a specific type (such as a show pony), but many will be happy to see any type and will be looking for good basic conformation and performance.
Although I love you're pony's top half, she is quite back at the knee which some judges will penilise heavily and some won't notice/won't mind. So I wouldn't be suprised if you see some variation in your results - note down which judges you do well under, and those you don't so you can avoid those who aren't so keen in future! It will matter less in WHP classes as the marks are so weighted towards performance and jumping.
