At the moment I'm setting up the website that will eventually be linked to this board. I'm setting up pages for turn out and conformation for the show classes you might find at local/RC level. I'm specifically looking for side on (tacked/untacked/moving/still) photos of horses and ponies who I can point to good and bad conformation on. I know this will probably limit me to horses that probably won't be shown again (as people won't want the not-so-good aspects of their conformation pointed out). If any of you have photos you would be happy for me to use, please pm me. This is an example of what will be done to them: The types of horses/ponies I'm still looking for are: Hunters Working Hunters/WHP Riding Horse Hack Show pony Lead rein First Ridden Coloured (traditional/native/non-native) Fell, Dales, Connemara, Welsh A, C and D I'm also looking for photos of turnout for all the above classes (M&M will be separated in to small and large breeds) plus: SHP Family Pony PC/RC horse/pony Equitation/best rider Also if any of you have any photos of glaring conformational faults, I'd love to be able to use them - they don't have to be of the whole horse (who's identity can be protected!!). So far I have capped hocks, wingalls, false curb, and over at the knee.

If I'm right in thinking that a good second thigh needs more width than the one shown?? Is it affected by the turn of stifle?? Or at least if I were looking at a dogs conformation that's what it would be. You can have Nelson for whatever he fits into but I haven't got any good ones with me in "show dress" or with him plaited. But it's here if you want it: img.photobucket.com/albums/v114/echodomino/Nelson/100b1171.jpg

Thankyou to everyone who's PMed me so far. Unfortunately most of the photos I've been sent have been very small or poor quality (a photo of a photo or very grainy), which I won't be able to use. They do need to be at least as big as the one I've posted or the one of Nelson.
Please also let me know whether you want them used for turnout comments only, or if you are happy for me to point out particular parts of conformation.
I'm starting a section on conformation faults too, which will hopefully correspond with the pictures of particular types of horses so that the comments will make sense. A tubular body is just that - looks like a tube. The bottom edge of the 'tummy' of the horse should have shape to it. When I'm at home I'll post a picture of a better middle section.

Have you got a less blurry picture Aster? It doesn't have to be side on for the turn out.
