hi am new here ;D right i have a 3yo 16.3hh (still growing EKK ) tri-colored Irish sports horse gelding i want to get him out to some shows not to win just for the experience he will need go in in the unhand class as he wont be backed until next year hes too Young this will be my first show (i do classical dressage) so what do i need to wear what does he need to wear and what classes would i put him in thanks lancslass x

is there a show you are planning to do? if you tell us the classes you are eligeble for then we can tell you the best classes

He can do youngstock, pot sporthorse, condition, & coloured. He wears a snaffle bridle with a coloured browband for most classes except the sport horse. You can wear light trousers, shirt & tie & jacket. Have you any photos of your boy?

Have you any photos of your boy? everything she said lol For him to get him dazzling white I use Wahl deep black shampoo all over and then mix gold label show white chalk with water and coat shine and paint onto legs and then bandage with gamgees underneath. He will need to be plaited and no feathers and if he doesnt mind I take off whiskers and trim under the jaw Have fun!

just a little update got him out of the feild 2 hrs befor the show plaited him up wiped him down with babby wipes and i quickly rasped his feet he is only 3 so and hasent been bitted yet so i used a show halter and leather lead he loaded him self and i shut the ramp behind him we got to the show ground and we went in yougstock we was the biggest horse in there at now 17HH we came 2 nd i was so shocked as he reared and then coulden stand still and then we did sports horse and got 3rd there was about 10 in the class i was very pleased as we wert going to win just to get him used to outher horses its was really fun until a very FAT welsh D won best condition now how do you work that out

Very well done horse did well, and so did you. The judges have had orders to put fat animals down but, I'm afraid some judges like fat horses. You can/t win can you. As we always say another judge another day.

well done, there are many judges best ignored even in dressage when theres a scoring system!
