im just watching the oylmpic pentathalon and im outraged the forth section is show jumping and i havent seen one rider who knows there arese form there elbow so far, they are all wearing spurs and are pullin on the rains as if they where tring to pull the horses head off! A french rider come off and got stomped on and now has a very swollen bloody face. Has no one thought to give these guys a lesson in basic riding? I think its rediculously crule on the horses and they should be ashamed. either teach them how to ride or use another sport! One rider not much worse then the rest i have to add got over 600 penalties! What the hell are they thinking? they are ment to be the elit- it muct be an insult to all other athlets that actually train for there sport. any one else agree? or know where i can complain?

I must agree, most could not even hold a whip properly, they had no control and the commentators blamed the horses!!! I think they should get some lessons in riding a horse properly - maybe holding a whip in walk and trot may help them in canter and spurs is to much for novices. I cant believe people lend their horses to these people and no one tells them to get off. The horses dont have a clue what to do, they get pulled back on the reins and then whipped for stopping - i think its a shame and immature.

I watched too and i've never seen so many riders fall off. I definately wouldnt want to lend any of my horses. One horse caught his foot in the wall.

some are quite good riders like theres a few british girls who came from a pony club background, but usually the athletes come from different sporting backgrounds other than horse riding, but i think it does prove you cannot just get on a horse and do it!!

Some of the women today were Ok. But as Claire Balding noticed 1 of the poor Horses was lame!!!!! Heather Fell is a good rider and as MB said, comes from Pony club background. the women were all a tad better but some dozey Mexican cow, Wore spurs on a horse that sure as hell didnt need them. I was also surprised to see the rider with the extremely lame horse still riding it when it clearly was lame! And the spurs!!!

I must confess to not actually watching any equestrian events during the olympics - but from what I have heard with drugs testing etc from the soley equestrian people, nothing suprises me.
