Ok, after much persuasion I'm allowed a pony. And yes we've already began looking. We've narrowed it down to two, a gorgeous grey mare who is stocky (believed to be some sort of Norwegian breed x Highland). She is good boned and has fantastic yet short legs but after riding her I feel like she's 15.2hh! Yet, she's only 14hh. She has great paces, and a scopey and honest jump! I hacked her out and she is absolutely flawless, didn't spook once and came back to me easily after a good canter. She is snaffled mouth yet she isn't very responsive in the school, she hasn't been worked with a lot, her owner said she was in a trekking centre before she had her, and unfortunately her owner isn't much into Dressage and more hacking. So she would be a project that I am more than willing to take on!
The other horse is a fantastic grey Highland, he is a gelding, and about 14.1hh but he is built like a proper Highland, has the thick muscly neck and gorgeous mane. He is responsive although he never has his ears forward and is strong when out on hacks. He doesn't go into much of an outline, prefering to stick his nose out which isn't very good for his back, but again he was mostly used for hacking and occasionally show-jumping and cross-country, so he did have a fab jump.
Basically, I'm veering towards the grey mare. She is absolutely gorgeous, and her paces are to die for! I would work on her schooling and in the mean time, we can enjoy some Jump X and Show-Jumping, not to mention hacking. And unfortunately I'll have to give Ed up but his owner is not putting him out on loan again, and she said I can still show him and ride him when I wish, so I'm chuffed.
So anyway, I need a new jacket for my little mare. (: I need one for Show-Jumping and Dressage. The mare's tack is black, but I might change it to brown, I'm not sure yet, but when she arrives I'll post pictures and let your guys give me advice.
Oh, and I just bought canary jodhpurs, whats the traditional colour for Dressage? And I bought myself a snazzy lemon shirt, and a red tie & matching scrunchie. Hahaha!
Not picked out a jacket yet but was just wondering what colour?
And I've just rolled about 4 posts into 1. I'm saving the planet with my reduced Internet and computer time, yeaah!

navy is nicer always i think,
i wear my cream johds for dressage aslong as your shirt is matching then i think its fine, unless your doing affiliated stuff many showing peeps come in your show gear-dressage isnt about what your wearing aslong as it isnt too bright yellow,
good luck with your mare

A lot of dressage riders use Black and Cut-a-way style.

Ok major update. My friend and yard manager went to see the mare again, I had a shot and I must admit she was being very nappy and even through a buck when I asked her for a canter, but I know no horse is perfect. So anyway we popped a few jumps (after a few runouts) and my yard manager got on. She is a much more advanced rider than me and does a lot of things with her horse. So she was fine in walk and trot, even went in an outline after she worked her for a bit then once she asked for a canter Isla just took off and started bolting, throwing herself around the arena and totally unseating my yard manager. Then to make things worse, she reared up! So its a definate no no for her now, which is gutting because I did really like her, but a friend of a friend knew the mare and said that shes known to be very bargy and mare-ish. And mum wasn't entirely happy about it. And I know it would be something to work on but it wasn't entirely what I was looking for. But good news on the Highland gelding. We are getting him! But not until February because he does Deer-Stalking so is owners need him until the season is over. Which is fine 'cause that gives me time to get all his stuff. We went to see him again yesterday and me and him were out cantering in the woods and through the river. He is so sure-footed, and a reg. Highland so I'm hoping to school him and get him showing potential. So I've decided on a green tweed jacket, which I'm hopefully getting from Spider. ;D So a lots changed in the past few weeks. But me and Ed got 2nd in our yard's competition (SJ). Woop!

I am a great believer in fate, so you just weren't meant to have her. Sounds like you have a much more suitable pony there anyway and Highlands are very versatile. Can't wait to see the photos of him. What is he called?
Look out for a magazine called "The Native Pony" which is really interesting and well worth getting hold of.
