to you for you're thoughts. Spider, I can kind of see where you're coming from. I don't want to say too much, as I'm quite a regular and don't want to be recognised but my work is very unlikely to be sympathetic - even if the individuals are, the institution isn't. I feel a bit better today after a chat over a glass of rose wine with a friend last night, but mornings are usually better for me.

Hello anon how are you feeling today,a little brighter I hope. I am so sorry that you work in an environment were they are'nt sympathetic towards illness. If you need to talk privately I think you are able to pm me, but I 'm not to sure as I'm only a computer learner really. Take care of yourself.

I've never had depression .......... a few dark days now & then but nothing serious. I think nowdays its worse because we all hold down full time employment & juggle home life, kids, & horses, some days my phone rings constantly OH wants me at work, My Mum needs something & daughter wants me to look after Dillan then if I don't answer they are all asking "where have you been?" Always have "ME" time I think it helps and indulge yourself that can help & talk to someone you must have a best friend to confide in. And say rude words it helps let of steam

I am the same as Bev. No real depression that lasts but bad days sometimes. Lately i have had lots of problems with my head being mixed up. Don't know what i would have done if i hadn't been able to talk to friends. Feel a bit guilty now reading your post Bev as you have had to listen to me going on a lot lately. I also do the rude word bit!!

I went through a rough patch after my divorce and I was on some pills for a while. Everything felt so hard, even the simplest thing seemed like climbing a mountain. I was lucky to have a couple of very good friends who kept me going until I felt strong enough to get on with things again. What I would say is that if you are feeling down try not to shut yourself off, and get on here instead. There are people here who understand and having contact with someone else can be really helpful. It is not something to be ashamed of, lean on us, I am sure we will all need the favour returning at some point.

Thankyou alijane and all of you.
I've had a few slightly better days. I'm dithering about whether to go to my GP, I haven't been during this dip in my mood, but if things are improving I might leave it for now.
I've tried to get out of the house every day after work, either to ride or to be with friends, which has helped.

Great to hear you are feeling a bit better today. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Another great therapy I found is burying your head in a friendly mane and hugging a friendly equine (who isn't going to object and take a chunk out of you!!!). My little Breeze has had more tears wept into her mane than I care to remember, and she is an awful lot less judgemental (and reliable) than any man! And she smells better.....

I agree with you 100% Alijane. My old pony Sparky has had the same, his mane could be drenched some times but have to laugh at the smells better lol ! Glad to hear your feeling better anon

I don't cry/can't cry
....and my horse doesn't have a mane (!), but she's great for taking my mind off things.

YUK! - definitely not a tail - that would just blow my theory about them smelling better than the menfolk! Hope you are having another better day today.
